Best time to post on TikTok, Reels and Shorts
The best time to post is when your customers have their phones out. Pick a platform and who you are trying to reach to get a starting schedule. Then let your own analytics take over.
Weekdays
- 7–9 am, before work
- 12–1 pm, lunch break
- 7–9 pm, evening wind-down
Weekends
- 9–11 am
- 6–8 pm
TikTok audiences skew later. Try an extra slot at 9–11 pm.
Times are in your audience's local time zone. They are starting points: after three or four weeks, your own analytics will tell you more than any general guide.
How to use it
- Pick the platform and the kind of audience you sell to.
- Post at one of the suggested times every day for three or four weeks.
- Open your analytics, look at when your followers are active, and move your slot there.
Questions
- Does the time I post really matter?
- Less than people think. A strong video finds its audience whenever it goes out. Timing helps most in the first hour, when the app is deciding whether to show it to more people.
- Which time zone should I use?
- Your audience’s. A local business should post in its own time zone. An online business should go by where most of its customers live.
- Is it better to post at the same time every day?
- Yes. A fixed slot makes it a habit for you and for your regular viewers, and it makes your analytics easier to read.
